While we were in Utah my parents decided to take the older cousins on a hike behind the Draper temple. They had a great time. It was probably too strenuous for a 4 year old, but they made it all the way to the waterfall at the end and were very proud of themselves because of it. They even saw/heard a rattlesnake!
There was a lot of complaining as you can expect from 5 kids ages 4-9. Grandpa helped them forget all about their worries by complaining about everything himself. His whiskers were so tired and his shoelaces hurt so bad:) Avery decided to try to carry him because he was "soooo tired".
It wasn't long before Avery took her first tumble. Grandpa carried her for a while and then held her hand. Soon after she wanted to walk by herself and within 30 seconds she was down again. It was a rough hike for poor little Avery.
Both of my kids came home with some pretty cool war wounds and big smiles on their faces. It was a tough hike but they sure are proud of how well they did.

We all had such a great time on the hike inspite of the few little tumbles. I wished you could have been with us, but it would have been pretty hard for Haylee and Liisa and I'm sure they enjoyed your company at home. (We could have put Blake on our backs) It's a rarity to see a rattlesnake, even in Utah. Hopefully next year we can have just as much fun!
how fun! we will need to check out that hike! Next time everyone is in town maybe we could see everyone too? :) After all you all were our favorite cousins growing up!
