Avery has been waiting for this day since Ashlyn got her ears pierced. She loves Ashlyn's earrings and asked us constantly when she could get her ears pierced. We told her that some kids wait until they're a lot older, but she came back saying "but Elle (my friend's 1 yr. old) has her ears pierced". On Memorial Day we finally gave in and took her to the mall because that's where Ashlyn got hers pierced. There was only 1 worker at the store in the mall so Avery would have only been able to get 1 ear pierced at a time. We knew that if that happened she would be walking around with 1 ear pierced and 1 not, so we left and went to another store. Here she is sitting so brave. She's always been our brave one, not crying for shots, etc.
Now she's getting a little bit nervous.
It hurt a lot worse than she thought. She wouldn't even let me console her.
She smiled for this picture, but she was still upset until we got home.

There's a lesson to learn from this. Usually to get something wonderful, you have to go through pain in one way or another. Her tears made me sad too. Look at those beautiful eyes in the last picture. Wow!
