St. George - part 1

For Memorial weekend we decided to take a well deserved trip to St. George. Our family vacations usually consist of driving to visit family. It costs so much money to drive the 13 hours one way that we don't get the chance to go on trips with just our little family. We had only planned on being gone for 2 nights so we decided to make it extra special for the kids. We didn't tell them that we were going on vacation, we told them that we were going to a new sprinkler park that some friends had told us about. They knew it was far away, but to them that could have been 20 min. away. So we packed up the car and drove off. We heard a lot of "are we there yet?" After 1 1/2 hours as we were driving in the middle of the desert, Ashlyn started to cry and said that she "just wanted to go home because we couldn't find the sprinkler park anywhere". Finally we arrived in St. George. They were so excited. We immediately drove by the park to show them where it was, but told them that we couldn't go there until we found a place to change our clothes.

Our hotel wasn't ready so we ran a few errands. The girls were getting very anxious because they still thought we were driving home that night. We ran into my sister Tanya and her husband at the outlet mall. The kids were so excited to see them. Finally we took them to the hotel and told them that we could change. Ashlyn saw the beds in the hotel and the pool outside and thought it was "so cool". Of course they were even more excited when we told them that we were staying for 3 days!

Ashlyn couldn't believe that someone was going to come and give us clean towels and make our beds for us. She thought it was very important that we thanked them. Who knew that a few nights in a hotel could mean so much. Stay tuned for the next chapter of our St. George adventure.
