The weekend before Labor Day we decided to drive to California. We only had 2 days that were free so it was a short trip, but long over due. Here are the details of the trip according to Ashlyn.
Me: Ashlyn, was this your first time to CA and why were you so excited to go there?
Ashlyn: Yes it was my first time there. I was so excited to play in the water.
Ashlyn: Playing in the waves and pretending to surf, but it was too cold to get all the way in the water.
Ashlyn: We stayed at your Aunt and Uncle's house. Their garden was sooo cool.
Ashlyn: Because that's where Barbie surfs! I was posing like a model.
Me: Ashlyn, why did we decide to go to California?
Ashlyn: Because it was my birthday. We went to California instead of having a birthday party for me.

Me: How did Mommy and Daddy surprise you right before we left to drive home?
Ashlyn: You took us to the beach for 1 last time and you surprised me with a cupcake with a #7 candle in it. We sang Happy Birthday and ate, then it was time to go home.
Me: Ashlyn do you ever want to go back to California? Why?
Ashlyn: Yes! Because it was so much fun!

What an exciting birthday! Much better than the normal birthday party with friends.
How fun. CA has had a really mild summer. Such wierd weather. Looks like a bunch of fun. Love the picture of her posing like a "Malibu Barbie."
