A Very Sad Day In The Taylor House

September 25th started out like any normal Sunday.  We went to church and later that evening we sat down for dinner.  When we got up we noticed that there were spots of blood surrounding Saasha.  Trent had a meeting to go to so we gated off an area on the tile where Saasha could be comfortable.  I ended up spending the next 2 hours cleaning up blood and urine every 10 minutes.  I knew that it wasn't good.  We knew Saasha had been sick for a while (losing weight, scraggly hair, frequent urination in random places) but we didn't know how bad it was.  We called a friend to come over with the kids and we took her to the pet hospital.  The Vet basically told us that most likely she was full of cancer and that her kidneys had failed.  We made the extremely difficult decision to put her to sleep.  Saasha was 13 1/2 years old.  She was my 1st baby.  I'm writing this 6 months later and it still makes me very emotional.

The next week Avery brought home this paper from Kindergarten.
It was a hard loss for all of us.  My parents dog Baylee passed away a month or so earlier so the kids were happy that Saasha and Baylee could be together in heaven.  Saasha, I know you were a cat but nevertheless you were part of our family and we miss you every day.

It makes me cry too. And she didn't even like me.
