At age 8 (almost 9) Ashlyn went to her very first concert. She and some friends from her soccer team went to see Demi Lovato live. I didn't go, so I was unable to get any pictures, but she was beyond thrilled. She had so much fun and it was a great bonding experience with some of her old teammates.
This year was Blake's first year being able to participate in the 24th of July parade commemorating Pioneer Day. The kids get armed with water guns and have a blast spraying all the parents in the crowd. Ashlyn was too old this year to ride in the back of the truck so she walked.
Avery kept Blake company in the truck. He was really nervous to be away from us, but he ended up having a lot of fun thanks to his sister.

Ashlyn played in her last game with her competitive team. It was an indoor game and they won 1st place. It was a great run while it lasted, but after much thought and prayer we knew it wasn't right for us. (the team pretty much disbanded after the next season).
Karly and Ashlyn have played soccer together from the beginning. This was their last game together. Karly went on to swimming and Ashlyn to softball and rec soccer. I have enjoyed getting to know her and her family. They are wonderful people and we have found lifetime friends in them.

A parade where the kids spray the spectators is great! Next time you should conceal a water gun and spray them back from the sidelines. Good choice, for many reasons, on dropping the competitive soccer team. Ashlyn will have fun doing other things. Hope she keeps in touch with Karly. Great girl.
