Our visit with Trent's family was wonderful. We don't get to see them as much as we would like because it is such a long drive, but every time we go we have a blast. Trent's dad built a par 3 golf course on his land and it has been up and running for a few years now. It is a great place to hang out. Trent golfs from sun up until dinner while the girls and I hang out at the clubhouse or play on the golf carts. We look forward to the family dinners with the great grandparents and of course the fireworks on the 4th.
On the 4th we could see some lightning coming from the other side of the mountains. Ashlyn was a little bit frightened, but she got over it quickly when she was able to drive the golf cart on the driving range.
We only get to see Trent's oldest sister and her family every other year. This year only her oldest, Seth, was able to come because he is attending a nearby college. We were very glad to see him because he is preparing to leave on a mission soon. However, we really missed the rest of the family. This is a picture of Ashlyn hanging out with her cousins, not including Seth.
The fireworks were great this year. Trent's dad as well as his sister, Tennille and her family (husband Jeff and boys Connor, Tucker, Peyton and Noah) supplied us with a great show. The older boys set off some big fireworks while the girls played with sparklers and watched the show. They loved it!
During the firework show Trent took his dad's little scooter out for a ride and performed some tricks for us.
When Trent took Ashlyn for a ride she surprised us and showed us some tricks of her own.
We had such a great time with Trent's family. Even though we didn't always feel well and the fact that it took 13 hours to drive home, it was definitely worth the trip. We love you guys and we hope to see you soon.

That is so nice that you guys were able to visit w/ Trent's family! Looks like you guys had a blast.. even if you hubby was playing golf all the time:-) Your girls look like they had a ton of fun also!
Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I love the picture of Ashlyn on the golf cart with a scared face. We can't wait to see you again. An hour or so for two days was far from enough.
